Critique of the show (Dogs) By Rodney Oldham
MP (1, 0 abs) 1st Claxtons Tsuni Hes A Dandy, red, very promising prospect of a good upstanding type and presenting compact picture, neat thick ears well placed aside broad flat skull, clean dark eyes, sufficient strength to muzzle at this time, decent shoulder and front, short coupled with firm topline and tailset, evidence of the desired stilted gait, steady showman in good form, BMP.
P (6,1) 1st Hodges Xianyang Crystal Star, eye-catching fawn package, very soundly put together and knows how to use himself, skull is flat with good width and thick ears well set, lovely clean eyes to suit his coat colour and of good shape, sufficient stop down to squared muzzle without exaggeration, leg length and bone commensurate with his size finished by tight round feet, decent rib and short couplings, tail set and carried high, strong well muscled quarters finished off with low set hocks, moves out quite stylishly and with accuracy, pleased to make him BPIS. 2nd Phillips Chanoyu Son 'N' Heir, only days younger but as yet not quite so well on but a lot of similar comments apply, he too possesses an attractive head and expression from clean well set eyes, balanced through and shown in good form. 3rd Russell & Gentlemans Hiswin Personality Star.
J (5,2) 1st Vines Shanutai Solitaire, upstanding med red, neat ears and clean dark eyes well placed, head carried on an excellent arched neck, ribs developing and carried quite well back to give short coupling, the whole carried on legs of good length, tight high set tail, firm quarters and a true typical mover, one to wait for. 2nd Evans Simcha Speedy Gonzalez, upstanding lt red that is looking a touch in between at the moment but is quite well balanced with good body to leg ratios, another that needs time. 3rd Fishers Akakuro Hey Jude at Poppykins.
N (5,2) 1st Claxtons Tsuni Hes A Dandy. 2nd Fishers Akakuro Hey Jude at Poppykins, compact in between coats, very strong head with thick ears well placed, good substance all-through, could still come up a bit, tail set and carried high. 3rd Smiths Xianyang Diamond Dream Boi.
G (4,2) 1st Andrews Maychow Red Emblem, upstanding red, clean cut and very well balanced, head could still broaden, has super shaped dark eyes set spot on, good straight forelimbs down to tight cat feet, neck of length with arch giving snooty head carriage, sound quarters giving fairly stilted action, lovely harsh coat texture. 2nd Southgates Santicana Iron Mike, heavier black of totally different type and not making handlers job any easier, rather lazy with his ears not helping his expression today, plenty of substance and hindquarters well developed.
SpGAOC (7,5) 1st Southgates Santicana Iron Mike. 2nd Douses Sundance Galaxy Dude for Shasadee, upstanding black of good colour, head carried high on arched neck, fairly short coupled and tail carried high, steady mover.
PG (6,2) 1st Harris Shardan Right On Target, convincing winner here being upstanding, not the biggest but compact and very well balanced, masculine head with dark eye and sufficient width to muzzle, decent lay to shoulder and straight front, arch to neck, well ribbed back and short coupled, firm well muscled quarters, steady true mover in good coat. 2nd Kellies Jolindchow Chang Peng, very attractive headed dog with most lovely expression from excellent eye and ear placement, the whole carried on arched neck with sufficient length, good topline and high set tail, could be more positive as he leaves. 3rd Lovells Sherae Im A Starfighter at Pamlor.
L (4,1) 1st Moores Rendel Denio, have admired this dog for type many times from the ringside and he seems to have his days, today I felt he was shown in good body and coat and there is no escaping his breed type, he has size and substance to balance with just about everything laid out as it should be, once his handler gets him going at his right speed he can move out but only when he wants in typical chow fashion, today I felt he deserved the CC and was pleased to learn this was his third, congratulations. 2nd Inesons Dawnanda Dundah, this blk is now approaching 6y and is probably at his best, upstanding with good substance, head properties well laid out, shoulders well placed with width to chest, straight forelimbs, arched neck and well sprung ribs, sound hindquarters with which he can move out quite effortlessly. 3rd Kirkby & Lambs Hiswin Star Magellan.
SpLAOC (3,1) 1st Evans Simcha San Lorenzo, loved this blue for make and shape as he stood in the ring, absolutely oozes breed type from every pore, upstanding with virtuous head and expression, good bodily properties and set off with good texture coat, at 3.1/2 needs to get going. 2nd Maynes Maychow Cream Maxamillion, upstanding dog I recall meeting as a youngster and did some useful winning, very well balanced and soundly constructed, in quality coat and puts on a good show.
O (7,2) 1st Simpsons Nd Ch Iwan of the Queens Club for Leircote, eyecatching upstanding red 3yo, excels in length of leg and most beautiful head carriage from his perfectly arched neck, short coupled with tail carried high, well formed second thigh, quality coat and handled to advantage, moved at the correct pace and scooped the RCC. 2nd Bishops Ch Lijiang Steady Eddie, attractive head carried on well arched neck, decent front assembly, short coupled with firm topline and loin, tail set high and hindquarters to suit, quality texture and colour to coat, steady mover. 3rd Byrnes Akakuro Bungo.
SPV D/B (2,1) 1st Cannons Ch Shiyue Starman at Miketilla, well known 9yo campaigner and still able to make his presence felt with his free flowing action and lovely attitude, beautifully balanced from head to toe and a credit to his owner and the breed.
SpOSm D/B (4,2) 1st Mullarkeys Fullforge Fiza, 10m old lt red, very well balanced all through with lovely neat ears and clean dark eyes all well placed, firm level topline and tail set high, moved out very soundly and true. 2nd Clares Benoleo Chudley Baer, more mature lad and full of type with good expression, well ribbed up all through and tail carried high, fairly free steady mover.
Sp V Elsworth Memorial Stks (4,1) 1st Bishops Shojo Massimiliano Paolo, well grown lad of nearly 10m, much more settled here and consequently projecting himself better, has good all round qualities but needs a bit of time to get it more together, steady mover. 2nd Fishers Akakuro Hey Jude at Poppykins. 3rd Fishers Akakuro Ticket To Ride at Poppykins.
Critique of the show (Bitches) By Rodney Oldham
MP (3,1) 1st Southgates Shasadee The Bedazzled, feminine young blk, well balanced and scores well in skull being fairly broad and flat, neatest of tiny little rounded ears, dark eyes and moderate stop, straight forelimbs to good feet, fair neck and firm topline, neat well let down hocks, steady mover. 2nd Claxtons Tsuni She's A Debutant, very pretty little miss with most lovely neck and carriage, short backed with tail set high, very free and easy accurate mover.
P (6,3) 1st Marrs Byhorn Cassandra at Kawanna, this young bitch is starting to come together, not the tallest but very well constructed, head is stronger than some and consequently taken a little longer to sweeten but it is all there, excellent skull, neat ears and definite stop, clean eye and a muzzle of good shape, width to front, short backed with tail carried high, sound quarters and neat hocks, moved out very respectably and seemed to enjoy her time in the ring today, BPB. 2nd Southgates Shasadee The Bedazzled. 3rd Mullarkeys Fullforge Fiza.
J (6,1) 1st Lefevres Red Fire at Jasle, new red to me and felt she stood away from the crowd today, of ideal size for a bitch, has two of the requirements high on my list - a decent arched neck and legs of the correct length, apart from this she has a most attractive head piece with neat well placed ears and dark eyes giving a good expression, tidy shoulders flow smoothly into straight forelimbs and tight feet, her ribs are sufficiently sprung and carried back to give short loin, tail is high set and carried well over the back, definition to second thigh and hocks appropriately set, topped off by a good quality textured coat she looked a picture as she circled the ring with her accurate sound action, not ashamed to mention that she stayed in my mind through the remainder of the classes and was delighted to award her first CC and BIS. 2nd Salter & Lovells Ch Il De Bote Orell Mia, lt red coming back into coat, stronger in outlook so not quite that intense feminine look that I love to see, short backed and a steady mover. 3rd Hughes Akakuro Strawberry Fields.
N (4,1) 1st Marrs Byhorn Cassandra at Kawanna. 2nd Southgates Shasadee The Bedazzled. 3rd Fishers Akakuro Ticket To Ride at Poppykins.
G (2,1) 1st Clares Miketilla Mannequin at Benoleo, again not the tallest but of great substance and presenting a compact shape, her head is powerful yet with the most lovely clean eyes, arch to neck, just enough rib which will hopefully develop more yet, free and true enough on the move.
SpPGAOC (6,4) 1st Southgates Shasadee The Bedazzled. 2nd Fishers Akakuro Ticket To Ride at Poppykins, rather strong in head but compact in body, would like to see a touch more daylight under her yet, in between coats.
PG (7,3) 1st Cannons Mactykes Star 'N' Stripes at Miketilla, upstanding lt red with super neck and head carriage, width to skull, clean dark eyes and good finish to muzzle, decent front and sufficient ribbing, good topline and tail set, very useful all rounder who moves very soundly. 2nd Hills Marshill Flaming Star, very attractive headed blk and compact in body, well ribbed up and shorter coupled, would like to see her step out a touch more smartly to really make her presence felt, but a very handy sort. 3rd Stevens Shanutai Auburney Princess.
L (7,5) 1st Burchells Denrob Dancing Queen, smaller lt shaded red, very typy and attractive headed, neatest of ears and clean eyes, good finish to muzzle, straight forelimbs, just enough neck, well ribbed up and back, good topline and tail set, low set hocks, parallel steady mover. 2nd Hills Marshill Flame Princess, better all round size with excellent substance, not quite so neat in head layout, very well ribbed up and bodied, sound easy mover.
SpLAOC (6) 1st Hills Marshill Flaming Star. 2nd Skeltons Notelska Magnolia Sky, very appealing cream of a good upstanding type, scores well in head type, expression and neck carriage, neat ears, some forechest and straight forelimbs, ribbed back with tail carried well over, sound well developed hindquarters, respectable mover from all angles. 3rd Jakemans Tanlap Toyah.
O (6,2) 1st Skeltons Notelska Beautiful Sunday, have watched this med red gradually turn into a most beautiful lady and I admire her very much, during the summer she has been in the most lovely coat which was the icing on the cake and she well deserved her many wins, still very much the lady today but minus some of her coat she had to bow to the young miss on the block, RCC but one I would happily sign a ticket for. 2nd Martins Ch Foillan Finesse, she came out under me some time back out of coat and paid the price but today was in fine form, neatest of ears well set on broad skull with clean dark eyes, would prefer a touch more daylight for perfection but a very worthy champion. 3rd Cannons Mactykes California Dreamin' with Miketilla. |
